EU regulator implements decision on harmonised standards for construction products.

On 7 November 2023, the European Commission adopted Decision (EU) 2023/2461 implementing harmonised standards for construction products.

This Decision entered into force on 9 November 2023.

This Decision amends Decision (EU) 2019/451 by adding five new entries (8-12) that deal with residential solid fuel burning appliances. These are:

  1. Room heaters.
  2. Inset appliances including open fires.
  3. Cookers
  4. Independent boilers – Nominal heat output up to 50 kW.
  5. Mechanically by wood pellets fed room heaters, inset appliances and cookers.
